Take That Tribute Band Meet The Real TAKE THAT – Part 2
Well there you go! What did everyone think? Hope you all enjoyed the show and didn’t think we came across too bad!
It was such a crazy situation. As we were taken to our seats there was a certain adrenaline that kicks in. It suddenly dawned on us that not only will we be meeting and speaking to Take That… but there’s a chance that everything we say will get aired to millions of people. pretty scary though!
We had 4 seats set aside with our names on and then nervously awaited the beginning of the show. To start with there was a warm up compere that got the audience into the spirit of things – not that they needed warming up too much as the room was full with plenty of excited Take That fans!
The show got under way and Graham was brilliant! Soon he was joined by top celebrities Nicole Kidman, Julie Walters and Hugh Bonneville. It was great getting to watch the show and seeing the interview. The guests were all brilliant and it was crazy to have such A List celebrities sat chatting just footsteps away from us!
At times I almost forgot why we were there and the nerves went away as we just sat watching and enjoying the show. Then waves would hit me reminding me we were there for a very special reason.
Eventually Take That came out and did their thing. The interview was going brilliant and we were so worried that we would end up messing our bit up. Before we knew it we’d reached the moment where Graham Norton was giving us the cue line – “I feel sorry for the Take That tribute bands out there”.
As soon as Dan spoke, the real Gary Barlow said “He talks like me”.
See the moment they spoke to us here:
Take That then performed their new single ‘These Days’ which was brilliant to watch up close and personal. At the end of the song Mark Owen shouted over to us “Jay, come down on stage and join us” to which our Jason (Joe Currey) tried to get over but didn’t quite make it out of his seat as we were boxed in! Shame!
It was all over so quick but seemed to go really well. As the show came to a close, a member of the production company came over to our row and instructed us 4 to leave our seats early and come backstage. This was the moment we’d waited so long for. The moment to meet Take That one on one.
We stood waiting and then saw them coming down the corridor towards us. It was amazing. We all shock each members hands and gave them a little hug. I asked Gary Barlow if he was excited about the new album and he said he was. He said we were great and called us all good sports for our part in the show. Mark Owen thanked us all for doing what we do and told us to keep it up! Howard also thanked us and they were all really down to earth and lovely guys. We then got together and had some pictures taken. Nicole Kidman happened to be passing and I asked if she wanted to jump in!
Check out the pictures here! We’re still in shock!
It was a fantastic moment for us all and we were all so excited. The Take That boys seemed so genuine and were so lovely to us.
It’s a day we’ll all cherish and remember forever and will be eternally grateful for and proud of. We’re so happy we managed to achieve the goal of meeting the real Take That and are completely delighted that they appeared to actually appreciate what we do and thanked us for it! How amazing is that?
On the way home we were all still in shock as to what had happened and were smiling the whole way back!
Here’s a cheeky selfie of me on the train!
A special thank you to the BBC, ‘The Graham Norton Show’ and the brilliant Rina and Ollie for looking after us so well. Thanks for having us and we hope you liked us! Of course another special thank you to Take That for taking the time out of their busy schedule to stand and chat with us and pose for pictures after they had finished filming. It really was a dream come true!
